Vor Frue Kirke is located at Frue Kirkestræde in the heart of Svendborg's old town on Funen island, Denmark, perched on a prominent hill high above the town square (Torvet), one of the two medieval churches anchoring the historic center. This late Romanesque long church from around 1253-1279 features red brick construction, Gothic expansions, colorful stained glass by Sven Havsteen-Mikkelsen, and a copper-spired tower offering panoramic views amid a sacred site predating Christianity. Just downhill lies the bustling town square with markets and cafes, flanked by Sct.
