Kungsparken is Malmö’s oldest public park and one of its most elegant green spaces, unfolding around the historic Malmöhus Castle. Created in the late 19th century, it was designed in a romantic, English‑inspired landscape style, with winding paths, sweeping lawns, and carefully composed views that invite slow, reflective walks. Mature trees, seasonal flowerbeds, and tranquil water features give the park a serene atmosphere that feels far removed from the surrounding city. Its central lake, ornate cast‑iron fountain, and charming bridges add to the park’s character, while shaded benches and open lawns make it a favourite spot for picnics, reading, and everyday relaxation. Kungsparken also connects seamlessly with Slottsparken, forming a large green corridor in the heart of Malmö. Kungsparken is located in the heart of central Malmö, Sweden, just west of Malmö City Hall and Malmö District Court, surrounding Malmöhus Castle. Nearby are the adjacent Slottsparken and Slottsträdgården gardens for extended green spaces, Malmö Castle with its museums and history, the Cosmopol casino within the park, Malmö Central Station just a short walk away, and charming spots like Slottsträdgårdens Kafé across the Trädgårdsbron footbridge.
