Framlingham Castle

About

Framlingham Castle is one of Suffolk’s most striking medieval fortresses, famous for its unusual design: a vast curtain wall reinforced by thirteen mural towers and no central keep, a layout introduced by the Bigod family around 1190. The castle’s most dramatic historical moment came in 1553, when Mary Tudor gathered her supporters here before successfully claiming the English throne. castles-palaces.comcastles-palaces.com.
