Known as the “Narrow Gauge Railway,” it is one of England’s oldest preserved lines, built in 1919 to carry sand from local quarries. Today it operates heritage steam and diesel trains on a 2ft-gauge track running nearly three miles through Bedfordshire countryside to Stonehenge Works. The site includes a museum of locomotives and rolling stock, workshop viewing, café, gift shop, and free parking. Open Sundays and selected days, it offers themed events, driver experiences, and special services including Santa Specials and dinosaur trains. What is nearby: Pages Park Station sits beside Pages Park, a public green space with play area, café, and walking paths, popular for picnics before boarding the train.
