Gradsko kazalište Zorin dom

Zorin dom Theatre is one of Karlovac’s most cherished cultural landmarks, a neorenaissance gem built in 1892 thanks to donations from local citizens. Its origins lie in the influential choir Zora, whose need for a permanent home sparked the creation of this elegant theatre. Inside, visitors find a warm, intimate auditorium designed for drama, ballet, concerts and puppetry. The theatre’s wooden doors open into a space that has hosted performances for more than 130 years, from early amateur productions to today’s professional ensemble revived in 2013. One of the most interesting facts is the building’s rapid construction: it was completed in just seven months, entirely funded by townspeople. Its neorenaissance façade blends harmoniously with the surrounding park, making it a favourite spot for evening strolls. Inside, look for the historic atmosphere shaped by decades of renovations, including major restorations in the 1960s and between 1987–2001, which returned the theatre to its full splendour.
