Zanaetčiski Dom is one of Kumanovo’s most distinctive public buildings, created in the mid‑20th century as a cultural and professional centre for local craftsmen and trade associations. Its architecture reflects the Yugoslav modernist spirit: clean geometric lines, wide façades, and a sense of openness meant to welcome the community. For decades, it served as a meeting point for artisans, workers, and cultural groups who shaped the city’s social life. Inside, the building offers a mix of functional and cultural spaces. The main hall is its most notable feature — a large, bright interior used for exhibitions, performances, and public gatherings. Visitors can often see displays of traditional crafts, photography, or local art, continuing the building’s original mission of celebrating Kumanovo’s creative and professional heritage. Another interesting element is the preserved décor from its early decades: wooden wall panels, period lighting, and architectural details that capture the aesthetic of Yugoslav civic design. Smaller rooms once used for guild meetings now host workshops, lectures, and community events.

Zanaetčiski Dom, also known as the Craftsmen's House, is one of the most recognizable historic buildings in Kumanovo and sits right on the main city square. It is located at Ploshtad Nova Jugoslavija, Kumanovo 1300, North Macedonia, in the very center of town. The building was constructed before World War II and was established back in 1930, so it has a long history as a gathering place for local craftsmen and cultural events. Today it is right where everything happens, next to the start and finish line for city events and celebrations on the square. Because it is on the main square, you are surrounded by attractions. Just across the square you have cafes, shops and the city administration, and a short walk away is the Museum of Kumanovo on Todor Velkov Street with archaeological and ethnological collections. Close by you will also find the Eski Mosque, the Sinan Tatar Pasha Mosque from 1532 on 11th of October Street, and the Church of St. Nicholas, one of the main churches in town. A few minutes further is the Memorial Ossuary Kumanovo, located in a park north of the center on a small hill, and the Sports Hall Sokolana. If you want to explore outside, the Kokino megalithic observatory and Zebrnjak Memorial near Mlado Nagoricane are a short drive from the center.
