Hastings Fishermen’s Museum sits right on the seafront in the Old Town of Hastings, East Sussex. You’ll find it on Rock-a-Nore Road, Hastings, TN34 3DW, nestled among the tall black net shops and the working fishing beach known as The Stade. The museum is housed in an old fishermen’s church and is packed with boats, models, photos and gear that tell the story of the local fishing fleet. You can even climb aboard the sailing lugger Enterprise that sits inside. Just a few steps away is the Shipwreck Museum, full of finds from the sea, and the Hastings Aquarium with its tanks of marine life. Close by you’ll also reach Hastings Contemporary, a modern art gallery overlooking the beach, and the East Hill Cliff Railway that carries you up for views over the town. A short walk further brings you to the Smugglers Adventure in the caves and the ruins of Hastings Castle on the West Hill. Everything sits together on the old waterfront so you can move easily between the museums, the net shops and the beach without covering much ground.
