Beetham Tower

Beetham Tower
About

Beetham Tower, also known as the Hilton Tower, is one of Manchester’s most recognisable landmarks and a defining feature of the city’s skyline. Completed in 2006 and standing at 169 metres tall, it was the tallest building in the UK outside London until 2018. Designed by SimpsonHaugh and Partners, the 47-storey skyscraper combines hotel, residential, and office spaces in a sleek, neomodern design. Its distinctive glass façade and slim profile make it one of the thinnest skyscrapers in the world, with a dramatic cantilever marking the transition between the Hilton Hotel and the luxury apartments above. The tower is also home to Cloud 23, a sky bar offering panoramic views across Manchester and beyond. Despite some controversy over its visual dominance, Beetham Tower has become a symbol of the city’s post-industrial transformation and was awarded the CTBUH Best Tall Building Award in 2007.
