Located in Cheetham Hill, one of Manchester’s most diverse neighbourhoods, the museum explores over 200 years of Jewish history in the city through personal stories, artefacts, and immersive exhibitions. Following a £6 million redevelopment, the museum now features a contemporary gallery, a vegetarian café, a learning studio and kitchen, and the original synagogue as part of its permanent display. The museum’s mission is to connect Jewish stories to broader social themes, celebrating both difference and shared humanity. With over 31,000 items in its collection—including oral histories, photographs, and Holocaust testimonies—it offers a powerful and inclusive space for reflection, dialogue, and discovery.
