Galerie R.J, opened in December 2023 by Raphaëlle Jehan, is a contemporary art space in the heart of Caen’s historic centre, on rue Montoir-Poissonnerie. After seven years working in a renowned South African gallery, Jehan returned to Normandy with a vision to showcase both regional and international talent. The gallery presents new exhibitions every six weeks, alternating between solo shows and curated duos to spark dialogue between works. Painting, sculpture, photography, and mixed media all find a place here, with a focus on fresh perspectives and creative exchange. The inaugural exhibition featured Caen-born artist Antoine Giard, whose layered, enigmatic screenprints invite viewers to look beyond the obvious.
