The Bourse de Commerce, located in the heart of Paris, is a historic building that has undergone several transformations over the centuries. Originally constructed in the 16th century around the Medici Column, it served as a grain exchange in the 18th century and later became the city's commodities exchange in the 19th century. The building is notable for its circular design and a striking iron dome, which was an architectural marvel of its time. In 2021, after a meticulous restoration led by Japanese architect Tadao Ando, the Bourse de Commerce reopened as the home of the Pinault Collection, a vast assemblage of contemporary art owned by French businessman François Pinault. The renovation introduced a central concrete cylinder within the rotunda, creating a unique dialogue between the building's historical architecture and contemporary design. pinaultcollection.com um showcases a rotating selection of works from the Pinault Collection, which encompasses over 10,000 pieces by artists such as Cindy Sherman, Jeff Koons, and Damien Hirst.
