Opened in 2017 as part of an urban renewal project, this 7,000 sqm green space features walking paths, sports fields, playgrounds, and wheelchair-accessible routes amid medieval remnants like the Jansenius and Justus Lipsius towers from the 12th-century city walls, the 14th-century Ursulinen sluice, and a scenic pedestrian bridge. Nearby are the Hertogensite cultural area, Refugehof historic refuge, Justus Lipsius College, the Groot Begijnhof UNESCO site, and a short stroll to the bustling Grote Markt with Town Hall, St. Peter's Church, Oude Markt cafés, and KU Leuven university quarter, merging history, nature, and city vibrancy.
