The Shipyard Museum (Værftsmuseet) is located at Allégade 2, 3000 Helsingør (Elsinore), Denmark, with entrance to the right inside the gate to Kulturværftet (The Culture Yard), in the heart of Elsinore's historic harbor area. Housed within the buildings of the former Elsinore Shipyard, which operated for 101 years as the town's largest employer, the museum tells the compelling story of the shipyard era when the factory whistle controlled daily life for generations of workers. Directly nearby stands the award-winning M/S Maritime Museum of Denmark, built into a former dry dock just steps away, while the iconic UNESCO-listed Kronborg Castle, famous as Shakespeare's Hamlet setting, lies a pleasant 10-minute walk along the scenic harbor promenade. The picturesque waterfront offers Øresund views across to Helsingborg, Sweden, just 4 kilometers away, with cafes, restaurants, and swimming spots in summer.
