The Sopot Lighthouse is a distinctive architectural feature of the city’s seaside skyline, standing beside the historic Spa House and overlooking the entrance to the pier. Built in the early 20th century as part of a balneological complex, it originally served as a chimney for the neighbouring boiler house before being redesigned to resemble a traditional lighthouse. Its elegant, slender form and light‑coloured façade make it an eye‑catching landmark along the promenade. Although it no longer functions as a navigational beacon, the tower is open to visitors, who can climb to the viewing platform for sweeping panoramas of the beach, the pier, and the Bay of Gdańsk. Today, the Sopot Lighthouse blends history, charm, and scenic views, offering a memorable vantage point in the heart of the resort.
Sopot PolandSopot Lighthouse stands at Plac Zdrojowy 3, right beside the pier entrance in central Sopot, Poland, originally built in 1904 as a spa chimney ingeniously disguised as a 30-meter navigation tower. Climb its 136 steps for sweeping Baltic Sea views over the bay, pier, and Tricity skyline. Directly adjacent lies the 511-meter Sopot Pier stretching into the sea, golden Sopot Beach for relaxation, and the fishing harbor with fresh fish stalls and colorful boats. Nearby, find Plac Zdrojowy's Spa House housing Państwowa Galeria Sztuki, the Grand Hotel, lively Bohaterów Monte Cassino street leading to the Crooked House, Sierakowski Manor House, Wybrzeże Theatre Chamber Stage, and St. George's Church uphill.
