Pašešupio Parkas is one of Marijampolė’s most atmospheric green spaces, stretching along the quiet bends of the Šešupė River. Known for its natural, slightly wild character, the park offers a softer contrast to the city’s more formal central squares. One interesting fact is that Pašešupio Parkas developed gradually around old river meadows, preserving native vegetation and creating a habitat for birds, making it a favourite spot for nature lovers. Inside the park, visitors can enjoy long riverside paths ideal for walking or cycling, with wooden footbridges connecting different sections. Sculptures and small artistic installations appear along the way, adding cultural touches to the landscape. The park’s open lawns and shaded groves make it a popular place for picnics, while children’s play areas and sports zones bring a lively, family‑friendly atmosphere. In spring and summer, the riverbank blooms with wildflowers, giving the park a distinctly seasonal charm.

Pašešupio Parkas is a beautifully renovated park located along the winding banks of the Šešupė River in Marijampolė, at Rimanto Juknevičiaus gatvė 14. The park covers nearly 27 hectares and is surrounded by the river’s meandering curves, with paths lined by stunning tree alleys. In spring, the park’s orchard, where apple trees grow, transforms into a sea of pinkish-white blossoms, creating a picturesque scene. Nearby attractions include Marijampolės Poezijos Parkas (Poetry Park), only about 800 meters away and one of the city’s top-rated parks. Marijampole Vytautas the Great Park is another popular green space nearby. The city center with the main square, J. Basanavičiaus aikštė, art murals, and historic buildings is within easy reach. Other nearby sights include the Basilica of St. Michael the Archangel, the Museum of the Blessed Jurgis Matulaitis, the Marijampolė Synagogue, Kačių kiemelis (Cat’s Yard), and the Meilės tiltelis (Love Bridge).
