About

Galeria XX1 in Warsaw is a contemporary art space with deep historical roots, located at Aleja Jana Pawła II 36 in the former studio of renowned sculptor Xawery Dunikowski. Since adopting its current name and curatorial direction in 2001, the gallery has built on its legacy as a sculpture venue to embrace a broader spectrum of contemporary practices, including installation, conceptual art, painting, and photography. Its program features both established and emerging artists from Poland and abroad, with a strong emphasis on spatial experimentation and material dialogue. The gallery includes two exhibition spaces—the main hall and the smaller “Galeria Kuchnia,” which focuses on promoting young talent. Under the direction of artist-curator Dariusz Kowalski, Galeria XX1 continues to challenge traditional formats while fostering innovation and critical engagement within Warsaw’s art scene.
