Ribe Cathedral, also known as Our Lady Maria Cathedral, is located at Torvet 19, 6760 Ribe, in the heart of Denmark's oldest town on the west coast of southern Jutland. Standing prominently on Ribe's central square, the cathedral is surrounded by historic landmarks within easy walking distance. Directly opposite lies Kannikegården, a modern archaeological center built over Denmark's first Christian cemetery, and the statue of Apostle Ansgar, who founded the cathedral in the Viking Age. Just steps away is Den Gamle Arrest, a 16th-century former prison now offering unique overnight stays, and the Ribe Town Hall on Von Støckens Plads.
