Örebro Castle

Örebro Castle is located in the heart of Örebro, right on the banks of the Svartån River, in the city centre at Kansligatan 1, just a short walk from Stortorget and the main shopping district. The imposing fortress sits almost on its own island, surrounded by water and connected to the mainland by a single main access road, making it a striking landmark visible from much of central Örebro. Nearby attractions include St. Nicolai Church, the city’s main parish church, which stands on Stortorget just a few minutes’ walk from the castle, and the lively central square itself, lined with cafés, boutiques and seasonal events. The city park and Slottsparken, both green, family‑friendly spaces with playgrounds and picnic areas, are within easy walking distance, offering a pleasant stroll along the river and across landscaped lawns before or after exploring the castle.
