Stadsparken Kalmar is a city park located right next to Kalmar Castle, along Slottsvägen on the eastern edge of the city centre, overlooking Kalmarsund and the approach to Öland. It is an English‑style park first laid out in the late 19th century and now one of the most popular green spaces in Kalmar. Nearby, the most prominent attraction is Kalmar Castle, which rises just to the north of the park and can be enjoyed from several vantage points along the tree‑lined paths and lawns. The Kalmar Konstmuseum (Kalmar Art Museum) lies immediately adjacent or within a very short walk, allowing visitors to combine a relaxed stroll through the park with contemporary art and sculpture in the surrounding landscape. Also close by is the Unions Monumentet, a striking monument in honour of the 600th anniversary of the Kalmar Union, set deep within the park and a favourite spot for photos with views of the water and castle. The park is within easy walking distance of the city centre, Stortorget, and Kalmar Cathedral, making it easy to include Stadsparken in a half‑day route that covers the main historic sights and waterfront areas of Kalmar.
