Polaria is located in the heart of Tromsø, close to the city center and overlooking the waterfront. It is one of the city’s most recognisable attractions and is easy to combine with a walk through central Tromsø. Nearby, visitors can explore several of Tromsø’s best-known sights in the same area. The Polar Museum is a short distance away and adds an excellent contrast with its focus on Arctic hunting and exploration, while the Arctic Cathedral stands across the bridge as one of the city’s most famous landmarks. Also close are Fjellheisen cable car, which offers panoramic views over Tromsø, and the vibrant harborfront with cafés, shops, and views of the sea.
