Simić House in Kruševac is one of the city’s finest examples of 19th‑century urban architecture, a graceful residence that once belonged to a prominent merchant family. Its elegant façade reflects the transition from traditional Balkan building styles to the more refined influences of Central Europe, making the house an important marker of Kruševac’s modernization. Today it serves as a cultural venue, preserving both the atmosphere of a bourgeois home and the memory of the city’s civic life. Inside, visitors step into rooms arranged much as they were in the late 1800s. Period furniture, embroidered textiles and polished wooden floors create an intimate domestic setting. The salon is the highlight: portraits of the Simić family, delicate porcelain and a piano evoke the social gatherings that once animated the house. Another interesting feature is the small study, where original documents and personal items reveal the family’s role in local trade and administration.

The House of Simić, known locally as Kuća Simića, is a historic museum building located in the heart of Kruševac, Serbia, at Majke Jugovića 2. Positioned right at the start of the pedestrian zone by the central town square, Trg kosovskih junaka, this late 18th-century structure is one of the oldest preserved residential buildings in the city. Housed in a charming Balkan-oriental style residence, it serves as an ethno-museum showcasing authentic 19th-century family life, period furnishings, and local cultural history. Its prime central location makes exploring Kruševac's main sights very easy. Right outside on the square stands the iconic Monument to the Kosovo Heroes, a famous bronze sculpture commemorating the 1389 Battle of Kosovo. Just a few doors down the same street at Majke Jugovića 12, you can visit the Kruševac Art Gallery, as well as the nearby Milić of Mačva Gallery. A short walk through the city brings you to the historic Lazarev Grad complex, the medieval fortress site built by Prince Lazar. Inside these ancient grounds, you will find the remaining stone ruins of the medieval castle keep, the celebrated 14th-century Lazarica Church, and the National Museum Kruševac, which holds rich archaeological and historical collections.
