Gayo Gallery in Tivat is a boutique art space known for its elegant atmosphere and its focus on contemporary Adriatic creativity. What makes it particularly interesting is its role as a meeting point for regional painters, sculptors, and photographers who often debut new work here before exhibiting internationally. The gallery’s founder, a passionate collector, shaped its identity around bold colour, expressive form, and the emotional landscapes of the Bay of Kotor. Inside, visitors move through intimate rooms where rotating exhibitions highlight modern Montenegrin art—abstract canvases, coastal‑inspired photography, and finely crafted sculptures. The gallery often hosts thematic shows exploring light, movement, and maritime heritage, giving each visit a distinct narrative. Many works draw inspiration from Tivat’s shoreline, capturing its shifting moods from bright summer reflections to winter storms. A small salon area displays select pieces from the permanent collection, offering insight into the gallery’s curatorial taste.

Tivat Montenegro

Location

It is located inside Porto Montenegro, at Regent Pool Club Residence, Obala bb, 85320 Tivat, Montenegro. So you are right on the waterfront, among the luxury residences and the pool club, just a few steps from the main promenade. You can easily walk to it while you are exploring the marina. This is a contemporary art gallery focused on modern Montenegrin and international artists. It has a nice, relaxed, high-end feel, with rotating exhibitions, paintings, sculptures and limited editions. It is the kind of place you pop into for ten minutes and end up staying longer. Right next door you have the Naval Heritage Collection Museum, the famous naval museum with an old submarine and Yugoslav navy history, located at the entrance of the marina. If you keep walking along the riva toward the center, you will get to the city park and inside it the Buca-Lukovic Museum and Gallery, which is actually a 16th century summer palace and fortress with a beautiful garden that is used for exhibitions. Two minutes further is the PI Museum and Gallery Tivat at Culture Square 2, the main town museum with archaeology and ethnography. So in one short walk you can see three different museums and a historic palace, all without needing a car.
