PI Museum & Gallery Tivat is one of the Bay of Kotor’s most forward‑looking cultural spaces, known for its focus on contemporary art and experimental visual storytelling. What makes it particularly interesting is its commitment to showcasing emerging Montenegrin creators alongside international artists, often through thematic exhibitions that explore identity, coastal heritage, and the tension between tradition and modern development. Several installations have gained attention for blending digital media with handcrafted elements, turning the gallery into an immersive, sensory environment. Inside, visitors move through clean, minimalist rooms where rotating exhibitions feature photography, abstract painting, conceptual sculpture, and short video works. The curators frequently invite artists to transform the space itself, so each visit feels different. Interactive pieces encourage visitors to engage directly with the art, while smaller side rooms often host intimate projects or experimental collaborations. The gallery shop offers limited‑edition prints, artist books, and handmade objects tied to current exhibitions, giving visitors a chance to take home a piece of Tivat’s creative scene.

Tivat Montenegro

Location

PI Museum & Gallery Tivat is right in the middle of town, you don't need to search for it. The location is Trg Kulture 2, Culture Square 2, 85320 Tivat, Montenegro. It is part of the Center for Culture building, just behind the main waterfront promenade and next to the big city park. So if you are strolling along the Tivat riva, you are already two minutes away. It is the main town museum and gallery in one. Downstairs you have the museum part with old archaeological pieces, traditional Boka costumes, old photos and objects that tell the story of Tivat through the last two centuries. Upstairs is the gallery where they always have contemporary art exhibitions, mostly Montenegrin artists. Right next to it is the Gradski Park, the big botanical city park, and inside the park you have Buca-Lukovic Museum and Gallery. That one is a real gem, an old summer residence and fortified complex from the 16th century with a palace, a small chapel and a lovely garden. If you walk five minutes toward the sea you get to Porto Montenegro. Inside the marina complex there is the Naval Heritage Collection Museum, the old Yugoslav naval museum with a real submarine outside. Along the promenade you also have the old St. Sava church and just a bit further you can drive up to Gornja Lastva to see old stone houses and another Buca family palace with a view over the whole bay.
