Arabati Baba Teqe is one of Tetovo’s most atmospheric landmarks, a sprawling Sufi complex that blends spirituality, architecture, and centuries of local tradition. Founded in the 16th century and expanded over time, it served as a centre for the Bektashi order, known for its inclusive philosophy and rich ritual culture. The teqe feels more like a small village than a single building, with courtyards, gardens, and quiet corners shaped for contemplation. Inside the complex, visitors can explore several notable spaces. The semahana, where ceremonies and spiritual gatherings once took place, preserves elegant wooden details and a calm, open layout. The residential quarters reveal how dervishes lived, with simple rooms arranged around inner courtyards. One of the most interesting features is the türbe, a mausoleum containing the tombs of prominent Bektashi figures, decorated with symbolic motifs. The teqe’s gardens are another highlight. Shaded by old trees and framed by stone paths, they create a serene environment that contrasts with Tetovo’s busy streets. The fountain in the main courtyard, traditionally used for ritual purification, adds to the sense of tranquillity.

Built in the early 19th century by Abdurrahman Pasha, these castle ruins provide a fascinating look into the region's Ottoman history.
