The Jordan Hadzi Konstantinov-Dzinot Theatre is the cultural heart of Veles and one of the oldest theatres in North Macedonia. You will find it right in the city center at Blagoj Gjorev bb, Veles 1400, North Macedonia. It sits close to the main pedestrian street, just a short walk from the central square and the Vardar River, so it is very easy to reach on foot from anywhere downtown. The theatre is named after the famous 19th-century teacher and writer from Veles and it is still very active today with plays, festivals and local events. Because of its central spot, you are surrounded by things to see. Just around the corner is the National Museum of Veles on 8th September Street and the Likoven Salon art gallery on Alekso Demnievski Street. A few minutes walk away is the famous Veles Clock Tower, the symbol of the town on the west bank of the river, and the charming old quarter of Varnalii with its traditional houses. You can also visit the Memorial Houses of Kocho Racin and Jordan Hadzi-Konstantinov Dzinot, and the nearby churches of St. Panteleimon and St. Nicholas. The area is full of small cafes, so you can easily make a whole afternoon of culture right around the theatre.
