Harewood House, just north of Leeds, is one of England’s finest stately homes and a landmark of 18th‑century design. Built between 1759 and 1771 for Edwin Lascelles, it was designed by John Carr with interiors by Robert Adam and set within sweeping landscapes crafted by Lancelot “Capability” Brown. The house is renowned for its exquisite Robert Adam ceilings, Chippendale furniture, and an outstanding art collection featuring works by Turner, Reynolds, and El Greco.
