Castillo de la Mota is located at the summit of Mount Urgull in Donostia-San Sebastián, overlooking La Concha Bay and the Old Town (Parte Vieja) below. This 12th-century fortress, restored in the 1960s, commands panoramic views and houses the Casa de la Historia de Urgull museum amid historic walls and cannons. At its base cluster the Aquarium, Euskal Itsas Museoa in the port, Basilica of Santa María, San Telmo Museoa, and pintxo-packed streets of Parte Vieja, with Paseo Nuevo promenade leading directly uphill and the Sacred Heart statue marking the peak.
