This area, easily reached by bus or by ferry from the City Hall during summer, is renowned as Oslo’s “museum peninsula” due to its concentration of major museums. The Fram Museum is dedicated to Norwegian polar exploration and houses the legendary polar ship Fram, which visitors can board to experience the conditions faced by explorers like Fridtjof Nansen, Otto Sverdrup, and Roald Amundsen.
