The Holmenkollen Ski Museum and Tower is located at Kongeveien 5, 0787 Oslo, at the base of the iconic Holmenkollbakken ski jump, on the Holmenkollen mountain just a short metro ride from downtown Oslo. The museum, established in 1923 and relocated here in 1951, is the world’s oldest of its kind and houses the largest collection of skis and winter sports equipment, with exhibits spanning over 4,000 years of skiing history. From the top of the ski jump tower, visitors enjoy panoramic views of Oslo, the fjord, and surrounding forests. Nearby attractions include the Frognerseteren restaurant and café, a popular spot for traditional Norwegian food and stunning views, as well as Holmenkollen Chapel and numerous hiking and cross-country skiing trails within the Holmenkollen National Park. The area is easily accessible by metro Line 1 (T-bane) to the Holmenkollen station, and the journey offers scenic views as the train ascends from the city center.
