The Pirate Museum sits right in the heart of Ulcinj’s Old Town in Montenegro, tucked inside the Hotel Palata Venezia complex. You’ll find it at the northern entrance to the Old Town, just below the main Ulcinj Museum, with the simple address Old Town, 85360 Ulcinj. This spot puts you in the middle of one of the oldest fortified settlements on the Adriatic. Step outside and you’re already wandering the stone lanes of the ancient castle walls that have watched over the sea for more than two thousand years. Right nearby is the Ulcinj Museum itself, packed with archaeological finds and local history, along with the old Church-Mosque that now forms part of the museum complex. A short stroll takes you to the Balšić Tower, the highest point of the citadel, and the open space once known as Slave Square, where the town’s corsair past still feels close. You’ll also pass monuments to Cervantes and Sabbatay Zvi, plus the Bey’s Tower, all within the same hotel grounds and fortress walls.
