This unique museum spans nearly 7 hectares and features 17 historic buildings preserved at their original locations, including old farmhouses, a village school, a smithy, a shepherd's cottage, and a traditional Low German hall house with barn. The museum offers visitors an immersive glimpse into rural Mecklenburg life from the 17th to the early 20th century, showcasing traditional farming practices, village crafts, and garden cultivation with over 240 fruit trees and herb gardens. Throughout the season, the extensive grounds host various events such as traditional music performances, Low German theater, craft markets, and children’s activities.
