Parco Monte Stella
Parco Monte Stella is one of Milan’s most distinctive green spaces, an artificial hill and surrounding park created in the 1950s in the QT8 district. Designed by architect Piero Bottoni, the hill was built using rubble from buildings destroyed during the Second World War and the remains of Milan’s Spanish walls. Rising about 45 metres, it offers panoramic views across the city and toward the Alps on clear daysWanderlog. The park covers roughly 370,000 square metres and features winding paths, wooded slopes and open lawns that make it a favourite spot for walking, running and quiet escapes from the urban bustle. Known affectionately as the “Montagnetta di San Siro,” Monte Stella blends post‑war history, landscape design and community life, standing today as one of Milan’s most symbolic and beloved parks.

Parco Monte Stella is located in Milan's Zone 8 on the city's western edge at Via Enrico Terzaghi, 20148 Milano MI, near the QT8 residential quarter and Boldinasco neighborhood, accessible via tram lines or the nearby Lotto metro station. Nearby rise the QT8 modernist housing complex with its experimental architecture, the expansive Parco delle Cave nature reserve to the south featuring lakes and trails, San Siro Stadium a short distance west for football matches, the residential areas of Baggio and Trenno with local markets, plus cycling paths connecting to the broader Milan park system.
