Palácio de Monserrate is located along the EN375 road connecting Sintra's town centre to Colares, about 4 km west of the historic core in Sintra, Portugal. This 19th-century eclectic palace with its exotic gardens sits nestled in the foothills of Serra de Sintra, a UNESCO World Heritage site overlooking the Atlantic. Nearby are the ruins of Monserrate Chapel, lush botanical gardens with over 3,000 exotic species, hiking trails through Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, Carris Metropolitano bus 1253 from Sintra train station, and easy access via Scotturb 435 to Sintra National Palace, Quinta da Regaleira, and central cafés in the old town.
