Lahti Museum of Visual Arts Malva is a bold, contemporary cultural landmark in the heart of Lahti, bringing together art, design and one of Finland’s most significant poster collections. Opened in 2022 in the renovated Malski brewery building, the museum offers an immersive, multi‑storey experience where modern art, interactive installations and changing exhibitions unfold across atmospheric galleries. Malva cares for more than 9,000 artworks and 70,000 posters, giving it a unique role in preserving Finnish visual culture while presenting it in fresh, innovative ways. Visitors encounter everything from cutting‑edge digital works to treasures from the museum’s collections, alongside international exhibitions that broaden its scope. Recognised as part of Lahti City Museums, awarded Finland’s Museum of the Year 2025, Malva has quickly become a vibrant cultural hub that reshapes how art is experienced in the city.

Lahti Museum of Visual Arts Malva is located in the heart of Lahti at Päijänteenkatu 9, 15140 Lahti, housed in the historic Malski‑brewery building just a short walk from the main city‑centre streets and the Lahti travel centre. The museum sits in the vibrant Malski‑quarter, which includes a lively restaurant and café scene, conference spaces and a design‑oriented museum shop under the same roof. Nearby, visitors can easily reach the Lahti Historical Museum, the city’s main shopping and cultural axis around Aleksanterinkatu, as well as Sibelius Hall and the Lahti harbour by Lake Vesijärvi, making it easy to combine an art‑focused visit with lakeside walks and other central sights.
