This 12th-century medieval Lutheran church is distinguished by its unique architecture and its status as one of the most unusual churches in the province of Uppland. A notable feature located directly outside the church walls is a collection of significant Viking-era runestones, specifically cataloged as Uppland’s runic inscriptions U 962, U 963, U 964, and U 965. While the church sits slightly outside the dense city center, it remains easily accessible for those interested in local heritage, and its surroundings offer a peaceful glimpse into the region’s historical and archaeological landscape.
