Klaipėda Sculpture Park is one of the city’s most atmospheric green spaces, blending art, memory and nature across a former cemetery that has been transformed into an open‑air cultural landscape. Established in the 1970s, the park features more than a hundred sculptures created during international symposia, making it one of the largest collections of modern stone sculpture in Lithuania. Its quiet paths and old trees create a contemplative setting where contemporary forms meet layers of local history. Inside the park, visitors encounter works carved from granite, marble and concrete, ranging from abstract compositions to expressive figurative pieces. Many sculptures reflect themes of identity, mythology and the Baltic landscape, while others experiment with texture and monumental scale. The park’s layout encourages slow exploration, with artworks appearing unexpectedly between pines and winding trails. Particularly interesting is the contrast between the serene natural environment and the bold artistic statements scattered throughout it. Klaipėda Sculpture Park is located in central Klaipėda, between K. Donelaičio, Liepų, Trilapio, and S. Daukanto streets. It is one of the city’s most distinctive open-air spaces, combining modern sculpture, quiet greenery, and traces of Klaipėda’s older history. The park is easy to include in a city walk because several attractions are nearby. Klaipėda Old Town is close, offering historic streets, small squares, cafés, and the atmosphere of the city’s oldest district. Theatre Square is also within reach and is one of the best-known places in the centre, especially for its sculptures and lively urban setting. The Klaipėda Drama Theatre adds another cultural stop, while the surrounding central streets are pleasant for walking and sightseeing.
