Queen Studio Experience is one of Montreux’s most immersive cultural spaces, preserving the atmosphere of Mountain Studios, where Queen recorded many of their later albums. Set inside the Montreux Casino, the museum recreates the working environment the band used from the late 1970s onward, offering visitors a rare glimpse into the creative world behind iconic songs. The most compelling feature is the original control room, restored to its 1990s appearance. Here you can see the mixing desk, tape machines, and studio equipment that shaped albums like Jazz, A Kind of Magic, and Made in Heaven. A central highlight is the interactive console, where visitors can isolate tracks, listen to studio takes, and explore how Queen layered vocals, guitars, and synthesizers. The exhibition also includes Freddie Mercury’s writing notes, personal photographs, and stage memorabilia that trace his connection to Montreux, a place he cherished for its calm and anonymity. The Queen Studio Experience is a museum dedicated to the British rock band Queen, located in the former Mountain Studios inside the Casino Barrière de Montreux, on the shores of Lake Geneva in Switzerland. It occupies the very rooms where Queen recorded several albums between the late 1970s and mid‑1990s, including their final work with Freddie Mercury. The museum is set within the Montreux Casino complex on Rue du Théâtre, just a short walk from the lakeside promenade and the town’s main landing stage. The casino sits at the heart of Montreux’s cultural and tourist quarter. A few minutes’ walk away is the famous Montreux lakeside promenade, lined with subtropical plants, statues and flower beds, leading toward the Chillon Castle, one of Switzerland’s most visited medieval fortresses. Close by are the Auditorium Stravinski and the Montreux Jazz Festival sites, the covered market with local produce, and the Musée de Montreux, which tells the town’s Belle Époque history.
