Spomen soba Trpinjska cesta, located on the legendary “Tank Graveyard” road in Vukovar, is a memorial room dedicated to the defenders who held one of the city’s most strategic positions during the 1991 siege. Trpinjska cesta became famous for the Croatian forces’ remarkable success in stopping Yugoslav Army armour, earning its place as one of the most symbolic streets of the Homeland War. Inside, the memorial room presents a deeply personal atmosphere. Walls are lined with photographs of the fallen defenders, each accompanied by names and dates, creating an intimate tribute to the people who shaped the defence of Vukovar. The space also displays personal belongings, uniforms and equipment used during the fighting, offering a direct connection to the events that unfolded on the street outside. One of the most interesting facts is the role of the “Yellow Ants,” a group of local defenders known for their mobility and ingenuity in anti‑tank combat.
