Its stage machinery is unusually advanced for a regional opera house, allowing rapid scene changes during productions like La Traviata or Carmen. One of the most interesting features is the orchestra pit, which can be raised or lowered depending on the performance type. The foyer often hosts small exhibitions dedicated to Bulgarian composers, costume design, or visiting international ensembles.
