Germia Park is a vast natural retreat in northeastern Pristina, covering 62 square kilometres of forested hills, valleys, and streams. Part of the Rhodope mountain range, the park’s terrain ranges from 663 to 1,050 metres above sea level, with Butos Peak offering scenic views. Designated a Regional Nature Park in 1987, Germia is home to over 600 plant species and 63 animal species, including golden eagles, fire salamanders, and Hermann’s tortoises. Its diverse flora includes Hungarian oak, beech, and rare orchids, while its geological layers span the Paleozoic to Cenozoic eras. The park features well-maintained walking trails, picnic areas, and a large public swimming pool near the entrance, making it a popular destination for recreation and relaxation.
