Sarphatipark is a tranquil English-style park located in the vibrant De Pijp neighborhood of Amsterdam. This 10.4-acre park offers a peaceful escape from the city's hustle, featuring lush greenery, a large pond, playgrounds, sports facilities like volleyball and basketball courts, and grassy fields ideal for picnicking. The park is named after Samuel Sarphati, a 19th-century philanthropist who contributed greatly to Amsterdam, and a monument in his honor stands proudly within the park. Nearby attractions include the Albert Cuyp Market, a bustling marketplace with over 260 stalls, and the Rijksmuseum, one of the world's finest art museums. Visitors can also explore the charming Canal District, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the Van Gogh Museum, located nearby. You can reach Sarphatipark by tram (lines 3 and 25, exit at Tweede van der Helstraat) or on foot, about 20 minutes from the Rijksmuseum. The park is open 24 hours and is suitable for walking, family activities, and sports.
