The National Maritime Museum (Het Scheepvaartmuseum) is located at Kattenburgerplein 1, 1018 KK Amsterdam, situated in the historic Oosterdok area just east of the city center and a short 19-minute walk from Amsterdam Central Station. The museum is housed in a former Admiralty warehouse and features one of the world’s largest maritime collections, showcasing 500 years of Dutch naval history, including an impressive replica of the 18th-century ship "Amsterdam."
