The Neuengamme Concentration Camp Memorial is located at Jean-Dolidier-Weg 75 in the Neuengamme quarter of the Bergedorf district in southeast Hamburg. The memorial grounds cover a large area of 57 hectares and preserve 15 historic concentration camp buildings from the former Nazi camp, which was once one of the largest in northwest Germany. The site is accessible by public transport via Bergedorf S-Bahn station (S2), followed by bus routes 127 or 227 to the bus stop "KZ-Gedenkstätte, Ausstellung." The surrounding area is largely rural, near the village of Neuengamme, with quiet agricultural landscapes and forested areas, providing a reflective environment. Nearby is the Dove Elbe river, with the site located between Hamburg city and the natural surroundings of the Vierlande region. Car access is possible via the A 25 motorway, exit Curslack, with on-site parking available.
