Ulanendenkmal
The Ulanendenkmal in Düsseldorf is a towering tribute to the Westphalian Uhlan Regiment No. 5, symbolizing the city's military legacy and its role as a Prussian garrison town. Unveiled in 1929 and located at the Joseph-Beuys-Ufer along the Rhine, the monument features a bronze cavalryman on horseback, poised atop a 15.5-meter column. Sculpted by Richard Langer, it commemorates the regiment’s service from its founding in 1815 through its stationing in Düsseldorf from 1822 to 1919. The Uhlans participated in key campaigns, including the Napoleonic Wars and World War I.
