Teatro Central is located on Calle José de Gálvez 6, on La Cartuja island by the banks of the Guadalquivir River in Seville, within the former site of the 1992 Universal Exposition. The theatre sits in a modern cultural area close to the Cartuja business and leisure district, near the Pabellón de la Navegación, riverside promenades and several former Expo pavilions now reused as museums and event spaces. It is just across the river from the historic centre, with easy access to landmarks such as the Triana district, the city centre shopping streets and major monuments a short drive or walk away over the nearby bridges.
