Murillo Gardens lies along Avenida de Menéndez Pelayo in Seville's Santa Cruz neighborhood, adjacent to Paseo de Catalina de Ribera and the walls of the Real Alcázar palace. This leafy oasis, once vegetable gardens of the Alcázar donated to the city in 1911 by King Alfonso XIII, features grid paths with orange trees, magnolias, palms, fountains, tiled benches, and monuments including the Christopher Columbus statue. Nearby stand the majestic Seville Cathedral and Giralda tower to the north, enchanting Barrio Santa Cruz alleys with tapas bars and patios to the east, Archivo de Indias archives across the way, and Alcázar gardens entrance, with Puerta Jerez tram stop moments away.
