Murillo Gardens lies along Avenida de Menéndez Pelayo in Seville's Santa Cruz neighborhood, adjacent to Paseo de Catalina de Ribera and the walls of the Real Alcázar palace. This leafy oasis, once vegetable gardens of the Alcázar donated to the city in 1911 by King Alfonso XIII, features grid paths with orange trees, magnolias, palms, fountains, tiled benches, and monuments including the Christopher Columbus statue.
