Lagos City Walls and Towers are located encircling the historic core of Lagos in the Algarve region of southern Portugal, forming a pentagonal defensive perimeter from Roman origins, rebuilt by Moors and expanded in the 16th century with nine towers and gates like Porta da Vila and Porta de São Gonçalo, integrated into landmarks such as Castelo dos Governadores near Jardim da Constituição. These well-preserved fortifications stand amid the old town, adjacent to Igreja de Santa Maria, Mercado de Escravos slave market museum, Museu de Lagos Dr. José Formosinho, Centro Cultural de Lagos, Centro Ciência Viva science center, vibrant Praça Gil Eanes and Praça Infante D.
