Zoo de Lagos is located in the rural outskirts of Lagos, Algarve, southern Portugal, at Quinta Figueiras, Sítio do Medronhal, in the Barão de São João area (postal code 8600-013), about 5 km east of Lagos city center near the N125 road. Surrounded by countryside, it offers a peaceful escape with easy access to nearby Praia da Luz beach (3 km west), the coastal village of Barão de São João with local eateries, and a short drive back to Lagos historic center featuring Praça Infante D. Henrique, Igreja de Santa Maria, Forte da Ponta da Bandeira, and Praia da Batata.
