Cabinet of Curiosities is located within the Science Museum of the University of Coimbra at Largo Marquês de Pombal in the historic upper town of Coimbra, Portugal. This immersive exhibit recreates an 18th-century "Theater of the World" featuring over 4,000 bizarre specimens like taxidermied animals, preserved oddities, minerals, skeletons, and antique instruments from the university's 700-year collection, designed to evoke wonder without labels. Nearby stand the Museu da Ciência's other galleries, Jardim Botânico entrance via São Sebastião Aqueduct uphill, Torre and Joanina Library adjacent, plus downhill access to Machado de Castro Museum, Sé Velha Cathedral, and Santa Cruz Monastery amid the UNESCO university quarter.
