Rubenshuis is located at Wapper 9-11 (with main entrance now at Hopland 13 via a new building by Robbrecht en Daem architects) in Antwerp's vibrant Zuid district, near the Meir shopping street and Groenplaats, in the heart of the city's historic core. This former home and studio of Peter Paul Rubens, designed as an Italian palazzo with a baroque garden, currently offers the Rubens Experience exhibit, renovated gardens, and library while the main residence undergoes restoration. Nearby attractions include the grand Cathedral of Our Lady just 500m north, the upscale Hopland street with cafés and boutiques, Plantin-Moretus Museum 800m away, the fashion hub Nationalestraat, Meir pedestrian boulevard for shopping, Stadsfeestzaal department store, and tram stops for easy access to Antwerp Central Station and MAS museum in Eilandje.
